Seafarer's Medical Certificates
Dear Seafarer,
Since May 5, 2025, I have been accredited by the French Ministry to issue French Medical Certificates for seafarers with a French registration (first visit or renewal).
This certificate is valid for 2 years (if between 18 and 55 years old) and is accepted by the Maritime Authorities of France, including overseas territories and all European countries.
If you do not have a French registration number ( immatriculation), you can obtain one within 48 hours by completing the attached PDF file: "Demande d'immatriculation" (Application for registration) , which should be sent to Nice if you are based in the Alpes-Maritimes region.
Important :
This certification is not automatic and is subject to the provision of supporting documents attesting to a desire to undertake training to enter the maritime profession. An application from a seafarer already registered in another country and sailing under other flags, solely for the purpose of obtaining a certificate of aptitude for navigation, cannot be considered.
